zmarcoz
I want to check whether any official name, size, etc for this type of air slot. Thanks
Dadgad
It looks like an air return VENT. Be patient there are a lot of HVAC folks on the forum, one of whom will likely have a more professional description for you, and steer you to a list of standard sizes. nestly
Generically, it's a Diffuser or Grill, but I have no idea if two columns of slots have a more specific name.
ReMark
I'd call it a louver. Edited July 16, 2013 by ReMark Spelling corrected.

ReMark
Fingers have a mind of their own. Which do you use...color or colour?
RobDraw
Out of context it is hard to tell exactly what that is. I doubt if it's a diffuser or grille. It looks more like a heat vent that you would see on the side of a piece of equipment. Louver (as we spell it on this side of the pond) would be another good way to describe it. Dana W
Take it from an old school hot rodder. The 'object' is either a grill or diffuser, but each opening within the object is a louver, or louvre, if you live in Quebec. Hot rods used to get louvers cut into the sheet metal of the hood (bonnet, or engine cover) to let hot air out.

SLW210
OP specifically asked for "What is the name for this type of partial slot for air passing ??" which is a louver or louvre.
RobDraw
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/louver?s=t I think you are right ReMark but from an HVAC point of view, I think they are different. The way I think about it, diffusers and grilles are usually attached to ductwork and can have slotted, screened, eggcrate, etc. openings. A louver is a slotted opening that allows air to flow through like to allow fresh air into a mechanical room or piece of equipment.
