    Default Setting middle mouse button as F3 button

    Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    Just wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to set the middle mouse button as an F3 button (turning off my osnaps is the goal from my mouse) Unfortunatly my Mouse software does not allow me to change this button to a F3 so I think I need to do it (if possible) thru AutoCAD

    Thanks

    mbuttonpan set to 0 or 1. 0 makes center button pan....1 makes middle button bring up snaps to choose from. This is how I have always used that middle button

    Shift+Rightclick will bring up the osnaps menu, would this be a better option??

    That way yo can keep the middle button as Pan.

    if you're using autocad 2007 and you go into the cui you can map any of the mouse buttons to do whatever you want.

    I am actually using 2005 Do you know if it has the cui Feature? I do not need my middle mouse button to pan as since the invent of the scroll wheel I have I just zoom to where I need to go. THe deal is I hate having the snaps on as I am in the middle of some commands as I get snapped to places I don't want to be (I used to have my middle button pull up the osnaps I required but with the object tracking which I want to use I need to have the snaps on so now I want to be able to turn them off with my mouse button...

    Thanks

    I don't know if this is the easiest way to do this, but it's definitely possible with AutoHotKey at autohotkey.com. You can remap anything to anything there.. For example, this is what I use for wheel up and wheel down, to zoom window and zoom back (I mapped them to F7 and F8 in acad):

    $WheelUp::
    IfWinNotActive, AutoCAD 200
    {
    Send, {WheelUp}
    return
    }
    Send, ^{F8} ; zoom window
    return

    $WheelDown::
    IfWinNotActive, AutoCAD 200
    {

    Send, {WheelDown}
    return
    }
    Send, ^{F7} ; zoom previous
    return

    If you read their tutorial you'll figure out how to do this in about 30-40 minutes at most.
