bbankston
I have a vertical stripe pattern and I have to put it on each glass drawing that I have (8 total). I've four countersunk holes on each unit so I need to trim the glass perimeter and larger hole from the stripe pattern (which is 1/4 inch solid hatch fill with 1/2 inch clear space). How can I make this faster? ...oh, Hey, Remark!
ReMark
Have you considered making the counter sink hole a block with a mask and forget about trimming the hatch? Now you're soliciting responses from specific members? There's no request line here at CADTutor.
bbankston
I still need to trim the outside perimeter of my rectangle, ReMark. Also, how does one "mask"? I only called you out, by the way, cuz I know how much you love my avatar. Stare at it!
bbankston
Ah. Is "wipeout" the tool I should be using? I just tried it and it hides my lines just fine. Now all I have to do is trim it from inside the countersunk hole.
neophoible
How about making a dynamic block polygon that you can size to suit?
bbankston
Neophoible, I've tried making dynamic blocks with hatches in them before and the hatch never stretch with the rest of the lines. Unless you know of a different way.
neophoible
Oh, well. Sorry. I don't use LT, so I don't know its limitations. In AutoCAD 2012 it works.
bbankston
The curse of having LT strikes at my heart yet again!
neophoible
I feel your pain, but there are some very knowledgable LT users here who may know of another way, so don't lose heart yet.
