Problem with Isometric Views

2KCM

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a project on a nozzle with a isometric view and when I draw the isocircles as I assume I need to use for the isometric view they are coming out as ovals which does not match the drawing in the book and doesn't look like a circle to me.nozzle950.jpg

What am I doing wrong here?

First you have to use the SNAP command, use the Style option, and finally the Isometric option.

Now using F5 or Ctrl+E toggle to the plane needed.

Now start the Ellipse command and use the Isocircle option.

Why anyone would be taught to draw this as 2D iso rather than as 3D and derive the iso in the 21st century is beyond me.

As a rebel - I would simply do as 3D flatshot and see if the instructor can catch my slight of hand.

I figure I would do well enough on everything else that if I get graded down on this one - I'll still come out OK.

I did that and maybe I'm missing it, but the they look like ovals while in the book they look like circles. I separated the pics to make it easier to see.
