Is there a setting in Options so a Xref doesn't looked faded when locked?

Good Morning all!

Xref in attached on a layer.

Layer is locked.

On the screen it looks faded.

Is there a setting so it doesn't look faded in options or elsewhere?

I have tried the Fade control under tab Display, but it is not effecting it :(

Have a great day!

Please try the XDWGFADECTL setting. This setting controls general XREF fading and by setting it to 0 DWG XREF objects will not appear faded.

ReMark, That system variable is controlled in Tools > Options Tab: Display Fade control and is not making a difference. Must be something else. You would think it would be the solution. Thanks for the tidbit on the AutoCAD insider.

ReMark - well it does effect the fading somewhat. But it doesn't make appear as bright if the layer the xref is placed on is unlocked. Would like it as bright as it if the layer is unlocked or not. I can live with it if it can't be adjusted. lol

I can put my shovel away and use a garden trowel instead?:lol:

Maybe there is a fixed limit to how little fade can be applied so one does not forget (visually) that xrefs are being used? I don't know for sure as I do not use the feature.
