davesec
i tried searching for this because i imagine it's probably already been addressed, but does anyone have any tips on how to properly select a hatch? i find i'm constantly skimming my mouse all over the hatch trying to find a spot where i can actually select it... sometimes it's super super precise, and if i move my mouse even a tiny bit off it'll disappear... thanks
CADgirl
Usually for me it works best to try and select it from the center. Somehow it doesn't really pick it up from the edge.
davesec
i find it's usually somewhere in between the middle and the edge. longer rectilinear shapes (L-shapes, E-shapes etc) usually can be picked up in the bend or hinge between the two rectangles. But it can be really difficult sometimes!
rkent
Are you talking about Solid hatching? If so change it to something like ANSI31, later change it back.
bbankston
I've thought the same thing, davesec. I only have that problem, of course, with the solid hatch. Sadly, I do not have an answer.
tzframpton
Is Selection Cycling available in 2009? Also, you can always use the Filter tool and save the selection set for future use.
mikekmx
if i have probs selecting a hatch, i try click/left-dragging with the mouse, selecting the hatch & the boundary, then de-selecting the boundary (shift & click)
Organic
I often have an issue with this as well. Hovering the mouse near the centre of the hatch does normally work, if not I use quick select.
SuperCAD
Do a right-to-left box selection to grab the hatch and part of the boundary. Then right click and use Quick Select, change your object type to Hatch, and you can either specify exactly what hatch pattern you're trying to select or you can change the operator to select all. Tuns
I don't have this problem with any hatch. I just window a small portion of it and it selects it. If it's solid I click the hatch anywhere and that does it for me.

Tuns
Well I remember using 2002 and having no problems. Did they change something in between 2002 and 2009?
davesec
i'm actually using 2011 right now, and also have 2013 on some other machines here at work.. i'm trying a solid hatch in a rectangle, and it looks like to grab the hatch, i have to move my mouse over the imaginary diagonal line that goes from the upper left corner to lower right... anywhere else and i can't select the hatch. SAFeSTeR
I don't really have a problem selecting a hatch, as long as I click on one of the visible parts.
