I've tried plotting to our small printers, and it plots fine. I guess that maybe it's a problem with the plotter itself, so I am going to attempt re-connect to the plotter thru the server and see if that solves it.

I have a really odd dilemma. First off, I am using ADT 2006. I have a floor plan, walls are not 3d, but the doors are, and I am using furniture objects from the content browser. There are several schematic floor plans in the same drawing, and for some reason, I cannot get one of these floor plans to plot either from the model space, or paper space. It is just this one floor plan, all the other floor plans in the same drawing WILL plot. If I try to plot from the model space, and I use a really big window to include another floor plan that WILL plot, the plan will plot. But if I try to plot the plan by itself, it will not plot. My plotter will say processing, and then nothing will happen and the digital readout on my plotter will just stop processing it and go back to ready mode. Also, I have copied this floor plan into another drawing to try to plot it out of that, and the exact same thing happens. The floor plan will not plot, but if I include other objects in my plot window, it will plot. How weird is that? Has anyone encountered a problem similar to this or have any suggestions?

The issues I've had with plotting tend to get fixed by telling the plotter to use the workstation's memory, rather than the plotter's, when it plots. If the plotter doesn't plot everything, it's because it didn't have the memory to do so.
I don't think that's your problem tho

my fix didn't work, and the memory thing didn't work either. Does anyone know of any driver updates for an HP designjet 500? I'm looking, but haven't found anything yet. I also looked on autodesk.com and found that there was a service pack update for ADT 2006, but I guess it has already been updated. I wonder if that could be part of the problem?
Hi pennylove,
We use a HP Designjet 500 plotter, and we've never had a problem with it. You can get the latest drivers for it from the HP website, if you have a problem there give me a yell and I'll email you the drivers....

I have done many experiments to try to isolate the problem. So far, I have tried plotting from another co-workers station, and it works just fine over there. Then I had him log onto MY computer station, and it worked fine again. I checked the printer drivers, and we both have the exact same ones. I even tried to log onto my coworkers computer with my own server-access-login, and it worked fine over there too!! So I have the problem narrowed down to my log-in settings on my station only. So I guess it's probably not an autocad problem, but a networking problem. Or maybe it's some weird setting on my autocad because of the way I have it customized (although it's not really customized that much)? I don't know. I guess I'll keep trying experiments.
