Layer on/off on View Port

Hi All,

Instead of double clicking on the boundary of a viewport and freeze a layer on that specific viewport, is there any quicker way to do the same for other Paperspace tabs at the same time?

Do you mean without Freezing it in modelspace?

If not, then just Freeze it, instead of Viewport Freezing it.

Then it won't display in any of your viewports.

Thanks Gents.

I think we all are on the same page there isn't any quick solution for it yet.

I was hoping that like the sheet manager we have access to a platform which gives us the flexibility to manage our Viewports from the back-end.

Anyway that's the way it is for now apparently.

Hi,

Is there a way where I can have layers inside layers?

For example, If I have an "electrical layer", then inside this layer I could have "Powerlines", Underground Power", "Generator Supply", etc...

Hopefully this is possible.

Thanks in advance!

Jonathon

Welcome to the Forum, JonathonHull!

You may want to look to layer filters - define a new one named "Electrical" and name the layers using a prefix (i.e. "Electrical - Powerlines", "Electrical - Underground Power", "Electrical - Generator Supply"). To create the filter use "Electrical*" for name.

Thank you Mircea!

I tried this, but when I print to *.pdf format, it does not have the layers inside layers (ideally I would like to use the file in *.pdf for a presentation.

Do you know if there is another way possible to work with as *.pdf?

Kind regards,

Jonathon

I don't know how/if you can achieve such thing from AutoCAD. Is this feature available in PDF file format? If yes, then may want to look for a tool to edit the PDF after export.

Cool feature you are looking for!

Basically you want to group layers which I like the idea but to my knowledge there isn't such a thing and I have no access to AutoCAD at the moment to check the Layer Manager.

Add it to Autodesk wishlist.
