mostafa badran
Hi all. anybody have any ideas to explode xclip block while keeping the stuff inside the clip boundary as it is thanks for help:(
Dana W
Nope. You can make a polyline around the clip then trim to it after the explode. That's the only way I know. The explode blows the xclip away. You know of course the resulting detail will not update with future changes to the original block. Is there a perceived advantage to doing this? This procedure actually will add more objects to your drawing.
mostafa badran
thanks Dana, but your suggestion will takes me ages to do this task.
Dana W
thanks Dana, but your suggestion will takes me ages to do this task. It wasn't a suggestion. xclip'ed blocks only have one purpose. That purpose is defeated by exploding the clipped block. Then you have the entire contents of the block to deal with. Not knowing any more about what the details of your task are, I have nothing further to offer at the moment. Maybe someone else has some ideas. RobDraw
There's a LISP for that somewhere around here.
Dana W
There's a LISP for that somewhere around here.Yeah, I was going to suggest searching for a lisp, but I was trying to stick to the simple mechanics of the xclip first. I have no information on how big this task is.
SLW210
Express tools EXTRIM, would make it easier. Why are you needing to EXPLODE Blocks? Here is an old post with some solutions http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?41469-deleting-outside-of-xclip

Jeff H
Have you tried creating a new layout and CHSPACE a polyline from XCLIP or whatever and align the viewport(ALIGNSPACE) with XCLIP boundary and using EXPORTLAYOUT command?
mostafa badran
I'm don't understand what are you want to say can you explain more to me. thank for your reply.
Jeff H
I was just adding that you can use EXPORTLAYOUT and use the viewport as trimming edge to possibly get desired result. It might speed up process or not be worth time. Here are 2 attached drawings that might help. Just as a quick example I just grabbed a sample drawing from NECA sample drawings and created a block of everything in drawing. Downlod attached files Open FRISER.dwg EXPLODE Clipped block(on right side in drawing) Change to Layout1(paperspace) Use EXPORTLAYOUT command Click Open button when command finishes. That should produce same result as FRISER_Layout1.dwg If did not make sense or still need more explanation just let me know. FRISER.dwg FRISER_Layout1.dwg
