Weird blurry cursor behavior! wtf?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever seen something like this? It only happens in Paperspace when I'm trying to do something in a ViewPort that's in Model Space. autocad cursor prob picture.jpg

Basically my cursor starts like streaking across the page... wherever I drag it it leaves a trail... doesn't let me select anything. Any clues how to stop this sporadic behavior?:geek:

Uhm... weird. The usual suspects: Graphic drivers up to date? Service Pack up to date? Windows updates (.net for instance, don't laugh, it's happened to me) pending? Regen does anything? Is it the same in all drawings? Turn Hardware Acc on / off?

How long was AutoCAD open before that happened? My home laptop will do this if I have left AutoCAD open and closed the lid. The next day it may do that until I close and reopen ACAD.

Tiger- good idea, I'll start updating everything...

rkent- this is on my desktop at work, which I usually shut down and reboot each day.

Guys, why won't the forum let me upload a GIF?

Hi Tiger-

Please excuse my ignorance, but how can I check that my graphic drivers are up to date? I'm not sure which graphic card I even have...

So too with Service Packs, etc?

Thank you

Look at the image to see how to manually check for updates to the driver, even if you don't know anything about it.

Just click on the Check for Updates button.

You may also opt to click the Remind me when a new display driver is available option.

My guess is that rebooting Autocad will likely solve your problem, like rkent suggested.

This sometimes happens to me if Autocad is running out of memory.

As a followup, I tried what Dadgad suggested and it didn't seem to work.

I was in the middle of installing/updating drivers as Tiger suggested, however my boss then informed me that I shouldn't be messing around with the computer stuff and to leave it to the technician so that I wouldn't be held liable if I messed something up. So, even though I hate sitting on my thumbs, I let a technician remotely access my computer. I think he updated drivers and whatnot but I can't be sure.

Anyways, it's been a day and the cursor hasn't reappeared yet, so I hope the problem's been solved. Thank you for your help.
