davesec
hi! i've been using the FIELD command to select a polyline and find out it's area. what if the polyline is in an XREF? when i click on something in an XREF drawing, the whole thing gets selected and i don't have any options to find out area or other properties! thank you! a3dtot
Find out the name and location of the xref'd file and open it. When I am having to work with xrefs in this way I usually have the xref file open at the same time. So I can get any information I need about the file. davesec
thanks, but continually sourcing and opening up xrefs isn't a viable solution for me. i'd like to have some tables with fields in them that automatically update when the xrefs change. is this possible in autocad? a3dtot
Not something I've needed to do. So I don't know. What kind of work do you do?
Tuns
It is possible with a LISP. Check this one out from Lee Mac.
