hi!

i've been using the FIELD command to select a polyline and find out it's area. what if the polyline is in an XREF? when i click on something in an XREF drawing, the whole thing gets selected and i don't have any options to find out area or other properties!

thank you!

Find out the name and location of the xref'd file and open it. When I am having to work with xrefs in this way I usually have the xref file open at the same time. So I can get any information I need about the file.

thanks, but continually sourcing and opening up xrefs isn't a viable solution for me. i'd like to have some tables with fields in them that automatically update when the xrefs change.

is this possible in autocad?
