Locate use of .shx file?

It should be obvious by looking at a list of linetypes that show a preview such as the layer manager. If you are looking for a linetype with a missing .shx and if I remember right, you will see rectangles where the .shx should be. You can then filter by that name with your preferred method.

 

Disclaimer: I cannot test this as I don't have a file with a missing .shx handy.
