Hello chaps,

I am trying to dimension a curved line, but sometimes Inventor is not allowing me??? I do not know why?????

When I click on the curved line - I can not get any measurement etc. At the bottom right corner is comment "Fully Constrained".

Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?

Many thanks

Peter

My suggestion was for YOU to attach YOUR *.ipt file here.

You have not given any useful information that would help solve your problem of why you can't dimension an arc (or "curved line" as you stated in your problem description?).

Useful information would be in the form of an actual Inventor file or at least some screen captures of what YOU see on your monitor.

JD,

Big Apologies...

Please find attached my simple 2D drawing Part1.ipt

When I want to use "Dimension" on the curved line / arc "black line" in 2D drawing - there is no reaction???

Is it related to any constraint features?

"Fully Constrained" is shown at the right bottom corner.

Am I giving you enough info now, just to understand my problem?

Many thanks,

Pete

Given that there is nothing in the sketches below Sketch2 - I must assume you keep creating new sketches over and over again.

Find the red End of Part marker and drag it up to just under Sketch2 as shown in attached image.

Right click on the red EOP maker and select Delete all Features below EOP.

Now - to the solution of your problem.

Right click on Sketch2 in the browser and select Edit Sketch.

You should now be able to add dimensions to the sketch.

In short, the sketch you want to edit must be the active sketch.
