fitzj
I am doing a drawing of a a frame which is 1200mm by 600mm by 150mm deep. The frame needs to be splayed so it fits in the corner of the room. When completed only 50 mm depth of the frame will be shown the other 100mm should follow the angel of the wall splayed. What is the best way to work out these angles for a nice fit.
ReMark
I saw your post yesterday and would have responded but I was a bit confused as to what you were looking for. Did you eventually solve your problem? If so could you post an image? I'd like to see what you came up with for a solution. Thank you. fitzj
I have uploaded a picture and it should appear soon. I presume 2 will be 90degree's and the other 1 will be 45degrees?
ReMark
No image to be seen as of yet. Is this a 3D drawing?
fitzj
The moderator seems to control pictures? That is the message I got. Isometric drawing.
ReMark
What file format was used? Maybe it's your use of the word "splayed" that's throwing me off. Can't quite picture what you mean. Suggestion: Do it all (wall and frame) as a 3D solid model then use ViewBase command to generate the 2D isometric view.
fitzj
I am a beginner I have no idea how to do what you requested sorry.
ReMark
Why don't you attach a drawing of what you have so far so we can take a look at it. You do have the frame drawn in top and front views don't you?
fitzj
Not sure how this works doing a test with attachment.
ReMark
The angles have to add up to 180 degrees. Looks like the frame would be 45 degrees to the wall so the other angle would be......? I bet you know.
fitzj
Many thanks ReMark for sticking with me on this.
