Text not showing proper height in dynamic block and how do I purge unwanted text

Can anyone help me understand why the attribute text in my dyn block will not show the correct size when I insert it in a drawing. Text style is Romans, height is 4.5", text with is 0.85" however when I insert my dyn. block in to a dwg shows different height and width factor, (3.75" and 1") respectively. But I noticed that when I go into the block editor the properties of the attribute reflect the correct height. I am very confused and frustrated about this. Help please.

Also cant figure out why I cant purge this unwanted text styles from my drawing even if I start a new drawing from scratch:

any ideas why I cant purge these unwanted text styles?
