If you are trying for Solid-Modelling then I don't think 2004 is a good option (2007 can do it), particularly as a car has too many "dificult" curves running all along it's profile. I suggest you go for Surface-Modelling using the EDGESURF command.

Make out a 3D "wireframe" model of the car (using splines, lines and arcs) , increase the SURFTAB1 and SURFTAB2 values to whatever suits your case, and then use the EDGESURF.

    Anybody else??

I once downloaded some tutorials from the net to watch a Lotus Ellise being modelled in 3D Max.Now as far as i now the default setting in 3d max has 4 viewports(i.e. top, right, front, isometric). The guy had some accurate drawings of the car (top view of car, front, right, back)as backgrounds in the orthographic views and used them to model the car.He was modelling only the one half cause its symetrical.I'm guessing you can do that in AutoCAD using the same viewports and modelling using surfaces.

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

To get viewports in model space, type VPORTS at the command line. This will open a dialog where you can specify how many viewports you want and what type of arrangement you would like.

Yeah i know all about viewports in AutoCAD,what i ment was that i'm guessing that you could go the same way in AutoCAD,cause i've never modelled a car.
    Thanks anyway Cad64.
