eliminate redundancy in list

hi,
in the list, iam having same coordinates two or three times (redundancy).now i want 2 eliminate the redundacny. for ex , i had given some coordinates below:
((8.24811 4.2329 (8.24811 4.2329 (5.14349 5.2851) (5.14349 5.2851)) can anyone give me idea to do this process.
i need the output as ((8.24811 4.2329(5.14349 5.2851))

You could step through each item (point) in the list, create a second list of unique points. Add item from the first list to the second list if not a 'member' of the second list.
