zonafpdesign
If I have an invalid file message (I'm using autocad 2010) does that mean the file that I'm trying to open is 2014 or newer?
Cad64
Autocad 2010 should be able to open 2011 and 2012 files, but the file format was changed with 2013. So if the drawing you have was done in 2013 or higher, you won't be able to open it. Or the file you have could be corrupt.
Dana W
File format changes have been something like every three years, 2007, 2010, 2013... My 2009 won't open anything newer than the 2007 format. If your drawing is too new for your program it would say "Created with a newer version..." instead of "Invalid...". That message usually means there is something actually wrong with the file, as in corrupted. What is the source of the file?
zonafpdesign
The file from a large Architectural company forwarded through the email of a small company that does not have CAD. Thank you for your response. That's the information that I was looking for. Mike
