Pan and zoom when editing text

Recommended Posts

When using mtedit to edit existing text, when I click to end the edit command, the program immediately pans and zooms out. I am editing a lot of text and this is slowing me down, I need to pan and zoom in to find where I just was.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to CADTutor. :)

How are you ENDING the edit command? With ESC?

Sounds weird, and annoying..

If you aren't aware, and need to, you can use ZOOM, then P for previous, or on the VIEWS Toolbar you can click the Previous icon.

I don't use the ribbon, would assume you can do it from there as well.

Are you opening the MTEDITOR by double clicking on the text?

That is how I would do it .

Forget about the MTEDITOR command, just double click on whatever it is that

you want to edit, and edit it directly in the text formatting bar, hit ESC when you are done,

you don't need to click on OK on the text formatting bar.

If I'm not mistaken, hitting ESC before getting out of the editor will cancel your changes. I'm a keyboard junkie, so I hit CTRL+ENTER to get out.

Mine only zooms back out, if I have zoomed in inside the text box after opening the text editor, to see the text better. Even then, it only zoom/pans to where I was before I zoomed in inside the text box.

How far is it zooming you out? Did you zoom AFTER opening the editor?

Ok, I am double clicking on the text, editing the text, then I single click outside of the text editing area to end the text editing (the changes to my text are being saved), as soon as I single click out side of the text the program pans to the left or right and zooms way out. I am copying, pasting and editing text on a map, addresses-road names- fiber counts, thousands of them, it is driving me crazy! I will try zoom/p.

Thank you
