byk3bep
I have a file: section.dwg, which has an xref-ed file: floorplans.dwg. Now, I'm trying to create a separate file, elevations.dwg, and xref the other two files separately. When I xref the sections.dwg acad brings in the floorplans.dwg (the attached one). I would like to have the ability to move around the sections.dwg (without the xrefed floorplans) and floorplans.dwg independently in the elevations.dwg. The question is: Can I unload the floorplans.dwg fom sections.dwg (only in the elevations.dwg) and bring it as a separate xref? Omg, I hope this was not confusing to much Thank you for your time and help

Tiger
In Sections.DWG change the xref-type on Floorplans.dwg to Overlay - that way it doesn't come with Sections.dwg when you xref it. Then you can x-ref both Sections.dwg and Floorplans.dwg into your elevations-dwg and have the there individually.
