    Default Rounding edges

    Hi,
I have been using AutoCAD for quite some time now and I am now experimenting with 3d. I get the basic jist of it, but I am perplexed by an incredible simple problem: I can't round the edges of a box. I have perused through the help files, searched the forum, and looked in every menu I could find and I can not figure this out. So, how to I make a box (or any 3d object) have rounded edges?

    Thanks.

FILLET command, works the same on a 3D edge as a 2D drawing. Give it a try :-)

EDIT: also remember, don't FILLET two edges in a 3D object, FILLET the edge of two 3D faces. so if you have a box, FILLET and pick a single edge, or use the Multiple command to grab more at once, further enhancing the 'roundness' you'll achieve.

I tried that many times, but it either won't accept the side I press or says there was a failure while filleting. Do I select the adjacent sides, various edges, or some combination of both?

    follow this:

    Command: F
    FILLET

Select first object or [Polyline/Radius/Trim/mUltiple]: Select a single edge.

Enter fillet radius <0.00>: Enter radius here....

    now hit Enter twice.

    done!

3d filleting is a very sensitve process anything that causes cad to stall will, if your trying to fillet around a corner for instance it seems ok to fillet a sharp corner but sometimes if the radius on the corner is less than you fillet radius it will fall over and die, becuase it cannot workout were the edges and faces should end up.

ooooo ok. Another question: Say I have a box, but I want an edge to be curved from one CORNER to another, not one face to another. In other words, it would look like a bulge is coming out of the top. How would I do that without making another object?

    Thanks.
