pete1968
Ok i changed the angle a bit . also created different. The part is a square block rotated 45 deg. then a 23.3541 face angle from top down. still a compound angle when you square the sides but I found it easier to edit angle if I draw it this way. My biggest bottleneck is understanding how to sweep the 1.375 dia hole 3 inches straight then out square to the compound face. Help please with the sweep profile. thanks:unsure::unsure: sweep square to face.ipt
JD Mather
Sketch1 is not fully constrained and use the Equal constraints or better yet, the Polygon command rather than repeating dimensions. Use symmetry about the origin to reduce work (get lazy!). Use construction lines to tie down your geometry. I just started a thread on proper modeling techniques here http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?85808-Inventor-101 you might go along with this as I update it day-to-day introducing best practices.
