Try FileDIA setvarioble set to 1. May be the dialog boxes are disabled. I am not sure though!

This is probably a simple fix:
I'm trying to duplicate a work project on my home system with the same .dwg project files I use at work. It works fine with AutoCAD LT 2000 on my work system. I'm using AutoCAD LT 2000 on my home system as well.
Here's the problem: When I click on blocks, I don't get the block data entry screen, only the block and the attributes are highlighted. Properties indicate that it is a block reference.
Is this a path reference problem of some type? What am I missing??
Thanks!

Try FileDIA setvarioble set to 1. May be the dialog boxes are disabled. I am not sure though!

Do you mean when you double click you don't get the attribute edit screen? Check setting of DBLCLKEDIT.
Thanks for the replies.
CarlB - yes that's correct - attribute edit screen does not come up - the entire block, with attributes is highlighted, though, and the properties indicate the highlighted block is a block reference. I get 'unknown command' when I type
DBLCLKEDIT
India - FileDIA was set for 1
I'm not sure that this will help cause i don't know if i understand your question correctly but try this: ATTREQ=1;ATTDIA=1;

I think you need to have Express Tools for the DBLCLKEDIT option.
Another thing - make sure PICKFIRST is set to 1.
Thanks for all your replies, settings were as you suggested, and still no change.
Let me make sure I'm stating my problem clearly: when I click on an object that I know is a block, I do not get the block attributes edit window, where I would expect to enter data specific to that block - I have successfully done this with the same file on my work system. Both systems are running AutoCAD LT 2000. Additionally, when I click on an object that I know is a block, the entire block and attributes are highlighted. I then right click and pick properties and this brings up the properties window that states this object is a block reference.
Are there references in the .dwg file to the location of the original block .dwg used in these drawings I am having problems with? I have a library of the original blocks that were used in these drawings that reside in another directory.
Do you have the LT-Extender at work? I don't think you can edit attributes in 2000 LT without the Extender program. I could be wrong though.![]()

Thanks for the reply - LT-Extender is not being used in either location.

Try typing EATTEDIT, ATTEDIT or DDATTE at the command prompt. Any one of those commands should give you a pick box that would allow you to select an attributed block. If you don't get a pick box, then you don't have the attribute editing capability.![]()
