Jake8090
Hi There, Can anyone help please.I have been trying for a number of hours now to simulate motion in a Ball Bearing using Inventor Professional 2014 (Student) Having tried all available options I must be missing something as Iam sure with the Inventor capabilties it is possible I have a ball bearing inner ring secured to a shaft with the outer ring grounded and am trying to rotate the shaft, inner ring and balls. If anyone can give some advice it would realy be appreciated. 76 year old student
JD Mather
Is this a sub-assembly? If so, did you set it to Flexible? Attach your assembly here.
Jake8090
Many thanks for your reply I have the bearing assembled and to a stage where I can manualy rotate the inner ring and balls. I have a sub assembly file cantaining only the bearing components where I am able to do this. Also I have added the subassembly to my main assembly file where I can also rotate inner ring and balls but cannot dynamicaly simulate rotation. As I am completely new to the forum I am not sure how to attach my files however I am working on it. thankyou for your help
JD Mather
Put all of the parts and assembly files into a folder. Right click on the folder and select Send to Compressed (zipped) folder. Reply to this thread and click the Go Advanced button in lower right corner of the Reply to Thread dialog box. Click on the paperclip to attach the *.zip folder. Jake8090
Having difficulty attaching zip folder. If you receive the files ok as you will see from the main assembly file all component files are not included. I have started to re do the assembly file again as I have learned considerably from my first attempt. Applying the correct constraints being a problem but I am getting there. the project is a Wind Turbine model that I have made based on one nearby. My aim is to make the blades rotate by grounding the outer ring of the bearing. Best Regards Brian (Jake8090)
