JD Mather
What is your current Shademode setting? (in earlier releases must be in one of the 3d shademodes.)
Dadgad
No doubt JD has hit the nail on the head, he usually does. If his visual style suggestion does not do it for you, try moving your cursor around up in the area you expect to find the view cube, as there is also a transparent until moused over setting available for the view cube. I suspect lots of users are not aware of that option. While I have no use for the view cube personally, were I to start using it, that is probably the setting I would choose, so as to make it as nonintrusive as possible, until needed. If you are now using Autocad 2011, it would be a good idea to update your software profile, which still shows 2009. nestly
You can try changing Visual Styles, but the default settings for 2011 should show the Viewcube in all visual styles. If that doesn't work, make sure you're using the default values (also available in Options > 3D Modeling) NAVVCUBE = ON NAVVCUBEDISPLAY = 3 Toggle Hardware Acceleration ON/OFF
Dadgad
A little further clarification from the SYSVDLG dialog box, describing available options for NAVCUBEDISPLAY, which as nestly pointed out can be accessed in OPTIONS, and should be on by default in your version. You can also see the other available system variables which relate to display of the NAVCUBE.
cadmando
Thanks for the replies, I have tried all the fixes without finding the Cube, it must be as lost as I am. Many thanks, Cadmando
Dadgad
Are you looking for the CUBE in paperspace or MODELSPACE? Which ever the answer might be, try looking in the other. In order for it to display you must be in an ACTIVE viewport, or in MODELSPACE. Try an ISOMETRIC view instead of an orthogonal one. Try double clicking inside a PAPERSPACE viewport, in order to make it ACTIVE, then resume your search. I suspect that you will find it. .
