gotchy
I am hoping that someone here is knowlegeable in the Sheet Metal mode of Solidworks. For some reason I am geting a curl instead of a straight bend. I did get one side to work allright, the problem is that I don't know why. I enclose three images, with one being the flat blank that I start with. Thank you, gotchy
Dana W
I don't know solidworks, but it appears there is no end point for that bend, and there is a "line" where the bend ends at the other two tangs. the program may be bending until it hits a limit, which looks to me like the end of the little tang. What made a line appear at the 90 deg point under the big whatzits?
JD Mather
Why are you starting with a flat blank? That is the reverse of how to use sheet metal in SolidWorks. The design intent is the finished part. Model the finished part - SolidWorks will give you the flat pattern.
