You're on your own there. It seems every time she starts a DIY project, I somehow get roped into it and sometimes it even becomes my responsibility. I suppose if you hack off her thumbs she won't be able to start anything, but that would include dinner, work, and lingerie.
And very heavy diamonds.

You aren't taking the cabinets down for real are you?

Not right now, but if she gets it in her head that she can't live with the wall texture, then they'll eventually need to come down. That doesn't mean I'll be replacing them. The holes are drilled and match up. I'll just need more toggle bolt wings and some very calming pills.

You misunderstand, Dana. She knows how to do that. It's just that the cabinets will have to come back off the walls again.

REALITY CHECK!

Do you mean that she is complaining about the texture of the wall BEHIND all those toggle bolts?

What wall? Or is is the texture of the toggle bolt field itself?

The good news? Marry her, it seems you have found the perfect match. :D

Should you need to take them down again, I suggest you place a dozen or so, new and mathematically random

holes in the wall (blindfolded), lest you become bored by the nearly effortless reinstallation process. :|

The entire bathroom -- all walls. When we removed the wallpaper years ago, it left some gouges and divots in the finish that she tried to hide with a sand texture. Cabinets had to come down and go back up. After it was all done, she hated the sand texture. Years later and we're tiling the floors it seems like a good time to take down the sand and repaint. Since the cabinets were coming down anyway and some of the mirror coating on the glass has given way to moisture, it was time to replace them, hence, this thread. Now that they're up, she hates the gouges and divots that we didn't repair when we repainted. This is how her DIY projects become my projects.

Now, since we have to regrout a shower, she'd like to replace all the tiles, but that's for another forum (John Bridge Forum) that I contacted when I rebuilt both showers a decade ago. Once these tiles are done, I still have a repair to make to the other shower. I can't wait to see what she wants to add to that.
