White Ibanez
So I've created layer filter groups in a template file to share with the my CAD group. When we pull the template file from the tool palette the layer filter groups aren't there. The layers I've created show up but no groups. There is no way we can create these each time. Anyone know how to make these groups stick when imported from the palette? I've searched and searched but no luck. AutoCAD 2014 (vanilla) Windows 7. Thanks in advance. jarr3tt88
Don't open the template file through the tool palette, open the template file and do a 'save as' For template files I recommend locking them in properties on windows, read only. Make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop or documents folder for easy access.
White Ibanez
Thanks for the reply... That doesn't work for me because I can't start with the drawing template file. I have to start a new drawing through our document manager then pull in the template. We have multiples of borders. This is more of a layer template file. Currently we have the layers linking to these borders with script files. I just want to find a way to make the layer filter groups stay when border is pulled from the palette. I used to recall a save and load button on the layer manager dialog but it doesn't seem to exist anymore.
jarr3tt88
From my experience, to get the layer filters in the layer manager, they can only come from the file you create them in. Any reason you can't have multiple templates for multiple drawing sizes?? Every office is different I know. Sorry I don't have any other solution than that. Maybe someone else can help. White Ibanez
I figured out a way to make this work with the save as. Found a way to import back to our document manager after borders are inserted into my layer file and saved. Thanks so much for the help. Problem has been solved!
