I do not understand what you mean by "drop roof down"?

Section Box in a 3D View cuts the Link as well. Can you elaborate on the exact issue you're having?

hi thanks

i have used section box in previous projects without using linked model, means it is easy to do sections using up and down grips, so you can do a duplicate 3d view. however when i use a linked model it will not let me use a section box command, usually in your properties you can just use a click box that lets you. i

I'm still not understand "it will not let me". I guess the only thing I can think of, is that you have the Section Box hidden. Type RH to Reveal Hidden and if you can see the Section Box, select it and click Unhide on the Ribbon. If you do not see it in Reveal Hidden, type RH again to toggle it off, go to Visibility/Graphics > Annotation Categories Tab > Section Boxes and make sure it's checked.

Hope this helps. :)
