newbie here

hello my name is Jay. sorry for the spelling but im not gonna write proper on a forum. recently my boss man threw autocad 2009 on my desk and told me to start drawing stuff up. pretty easy but it seems confusing...any tips and ideas. ive drawn a few floor plans and a few flanges...now starting to draw 3d shapes and stuff around the office to improve..

 

where can i go for help if i need it. i am gettin the newer version but stuck with 2009 until i can "show" that i can do it.

 

i am very new..any tips or advice...no trolls pls as this is something i want to improve and grow on

Youtube is ripe with video tutorials as well as all of the tutorials available here at CADTutor.

 

And, of course, just ask away on here.

Hello Jay, welcom to CADTutor. :)

 

I think the site which ReMark suggested is very good,

I used it 6 years ago when I was teaching myself.

It is a well and logically structured set of short lessons.

Just work your way through them, don't skip around. They go pretty quickly

and will show you what you need to know, when you need to know it.

Is it 2D or 3D?

Either post a copy of the drawing (not an image) or tell us what the problem seems to be.

 

No response? Did you figure it out?

yes.....im working on it slowly but surely.... this is a skill i need to master within the next year

There are probably two or three ways the task could be accomplished. I created a single tooth then did a polar array. After I was done and satisfied with the results I unioned the separate parts.
