Guest PAB12
I have a set of electrical prints that is 60 pages and I need to be able to search for text and numbers. I have Adobe acrobat 11 to convert to PDF and this will make it searchable for text and wire numbers but when I do a sheet I get all layouts and they are all in Model space layer colors and I need them to be Monochrome. How can I convert these to searchable PDF monochrome all 60 pages in one PDF file? I know how to convert them to 1 PDF file if I can get the prints in monochrome and searchable. BIGAL
Your plot output is controlled simply by the CTB used if you pick "monochrome" then thats what you will get for pdf or plotter. Top right on PLOT screen click down arrow
Guest PAB12
When I try to use the DWGtoPDF printer in AutoCAD or print to Adobe Acrobat the print comes out in monochrome but the lines and text is very heavy and difficult to read and the wire numbers and text are not searchable. But if I take the AutoCAD file without opening it and right click and convert to Adobe Acrobat PDF then I get a PDF of the colors and layers and it has the model space and both layouts in the file which is a 8x11 and a 11x17 layout but the text and wire numbers are searchable. Any ideas?
tzframpton
Changing your font to a TTF, such as Arial, will make the PDF searchable. Any SHX font, such as RomanS or Simplex, is not a searchable font when a PDF is created.
