MCKAYMMC
Hi We are trying to use transmit to package up drawings for another office to complete and then return to us for checking. We would like to use etransmit to package up all of the drawings and then save in a single folder but maintain the absolute xref paths. Currently etransmit is stripping the xrefs paths to the transmittal folder path instrad of maintain the current xref path. Any idea how to change the etransmit setting to prevent this. We are using the 'place all folders in one folder' and the 'Folder set of files' options Thanks
RobDraw
If all the files are in the same folder, a saved path is not necessary. AutoCAD will find them automagically.
MCKAYMMC
Rob Yes and this is how the remote office views the files but we want to be able to return these files to their correct file location after return. We could do this by packaging the files manually ie without etransmit but this means we can easily miss xrefs on larger projects when dealing with upto 100 files per transmittal. RobDraw
I don't think you can have it both ways if the recipients are not using the same folder structure. If you can coordinate the folder structure to be the same on both sides, it is very doable. Relative pathing might help you out but, again, some of the same folder structure has to be maintained, if they are sending them back. Are they making changes to the XREFs? A better description of the workflow may help find a workable solution.
