Drawing a roof of a train

Hi,

I'm currently trying to construct a train for my model railway. Since it has never been mass produced by any manufacturer, I have to make my own.

Fortunately a manufacturer once made a model which is close to the one I want. This is the model I'm using to get the dimensions from and the basic shape. Now with my model almost complete I just need the front part of the train. Now I'm really struggling with the roof and I hope someone can help me to get it done.

First I want to show you some pictures of the original model:

A screenshot how I have done it so far:

Now I'm trying to use the "Loft"-Tool and it always tells me "The attempted operation did not produce a meaningful result. Try with different inputs".

Here's my .ipt-File aswell

I really hope that here's somebody who can help me with this.

Thanks

Well, honestly, I'm still a noob in Inventor and therefor I'm letting Invetor doing the dimension and constraints stuff by using the Auto-Dimension Tool.

It took me only a fraction of the number of dimensions to fully constrain.

Forget you ever saw the auto-dimension tool. See the Inventor 101 Tutorials above.

I saw a zero dimension and a zero length line (degenerate) in your first sketch.

And your first sketch doesn't match the geometry of the previous file?

I recommend that you go through the Inventor 101 Tutorials above.
