ReMark
In plain AutoCAD it is via the 3DCONFIG command. Not sure if the command is the same for Civil 3D.

ReMark
Do you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card? Did you disable the InfoCenter (also referred to as the CommCntr)? Is this a standalone computer or are you working off a network?

Cad64
i have recently buy Asus N550JK CM316H (16 gb Ram,4 GB Geforce dedicated Graphic,Core i7,2.50GHZ,1 TB Hard,Win 8.1 64bit). What do you consider to be slow performance? What are you doing when the slow down occurs and what is happening on screen? What sort of files are you working on? Filesize? Complexity? Your computer specs appear to be more than good enough for running 3ds Max, so I'm not sure why you're having difficulty? Are you trying to work on huge models with millions of polygons? Mike_Taylor
Do you have a model on the video card? or a clock speed. Sometimes some cards have overclocked speeds and can become unstable. Most that come with a default overclock setting have a small switch close to the input power cables. Also, as awful as this sounds, the computer itself could just be faulty in some way. ReMark
You artfully avoided answering a handful of questions put to you so unless we start getting some answers it will be difficult if not impossible to provide further help. And while you are at it, disable the InfoCenter too then get back to us.
