As I know, lisp can only read text file with ansi format.

It would help us immensely if you said what other software you are referring to. What exactly are you trying to do?

i see in different site in net, They wrote a code with autolisp program that capture output from etabs software and drawing work shops.

out of etabs format is edb , How Autolisp will read this format?
