steven-g
What is wrong with using "find" with the replacement option, just be carefull doing the whole drawing, and I would use something like "X =" rather than just "X" it makes it a little safer and more selective. Dana W
No lisp required, Steven is right. It is already built into AutoCad. Menu bar >> Edit >> Find >> Find What? X =, Replace With? E =, Click Replace All. Find What? Y =, Replace With? N =, Click Replace All. Click Done. You can execute Find/Replace on the entire drawing, or select an area or just one text item, and run it on the selection. In 2007, you may need to zoom extents to go back to being able to view the whole drawing area again. In some earlier releases Find/Replace leaves you zoomed in on the last text modified. BIGAL
A bit more using filter pick a text edit the position out and you now have by layer, select all dwg. "FIND" "Find where" pick little down arrow "Find Objects" P enter then Y N= will only do on that layer. This way Only does not become onlN =

"FIND" "Find where" pick little down arrow "Find Objects" P enter then Y N= will only do on that layer. This way Only does not become onlN = Yes. That illustrates that the user must know what is in the drawing, what to select for Find/Replace and how to talk to the little box it offers up.
