Chris Broadway
In MS word you can re-assign keystrokes to input special text characters, is there a way to do this for cad civil 3D 2011? Or maybe reassign control code for degree symbol %%d?
BIGAL
If you use Mtext rather than text the special characters like %%c are in the drop down arrow including m2 m3 etc
RobDraw
I asked about assigning a different character to the code and was told it is not possible.
BIGAL
You may be able to reassign a key on your keyboard I had a broken laptop keyboard so remapped ~ to be (, I think it was KEYMAP ?
RobDraw
That command is not recognized in 2014. Not sure that would work even if we had the right one. We are talking about special characters.
BIGAL
RobDraw %%C %%D %%U is recognised in R1.4-2015 if you do TEXT not sure what you mean not recognised. The OP wants press a single key not 3 hence some form of key remapper.
RobDraw
KEYMAP is not recognized as a command.
BIGAL
When my laptop was broken I downloaded a key board remapping program to change 1 key to something else it applies globally as it changes the key at the operating system level so no matter what program your in the key will not be what is printed on the face. So pick a key rarely used like ~ # ^`
RobDraw
I thought you meant you were doing it in AutoCAD with a command called KEYMAP.
