donjones
I need to copy graphics to CAD. Is that possible? It needs to be exact. Im hoping there might be a simple way to do this, something like a copy machine. Can anyone advise me on such a process or type of machinery. For example, Id like to reproduce a decorative emblem. Its detailed and intricate. Is it possible to do that.
Tyke
There are a couple of ways that you could approach that. In AutoCAD you can insert the graphic image, scale it to the correct size and then trace over it to get a CAD drawing. Alternatively you could use a graphics vectorizing program that will convert the image into vector elements automatically. There are a lot of such programs available and the quality of their results vary a lot, but they can all save their results to DXF format which can then be opened in a CAD system. But be aware the results obtained from both of these approaches are totally dependant on the quality of the original image.
