nestly
Can you create orthogonal Drawing Views of parts of a 3D model that are not oriented orthogonal to the WCS? With AutoCAD's traditional tools for creating 2D documentation from 3D models, you could simply isolate the object, align the UCS with the part, and project the geometry, but I can't seem to manage this with VIEWBASE, it seems only to create views based on the WCS. Am I missing something, or is that a limitation?
SEANT
If you have a view set up aligned to a base view, the "Current" option can be selected through the Orientation sub menu.
nestly
Well, that works, thanks for the tip, but in the process I seem to have discovered yet another way that VIEWBASE can corrupt a drawing so that no additional Drawing views can be created until all the existing DV's have been deleted... SEANT
Damn, is that the unfortunate conclusion of using differing views?
43st
You can also rotate the baseview object and project. This works with items that are aligned on at least one plane.
