What Is This

Recommended Posts

The sanitary and vent pipes in plumbing chase are drawn "correctly". The line represents a sanitary line.

What is your interpretation?

Is it drawn correctly?

Would you draw it this way?

It's actually a dormitory building. That's not important but what is not shown in the posted plan is that there are duplicate bathrooms above and below.

I know what is supposed to be there but I'm wondering about how experienced piping drafters would interpret the drawing.

Thoughts?

I would have to look for the iso because you can't tell the intent from what is shown in plan.

Right, I don't think it makes sense either. I'll post an iso tomorrow.

Hey Rob, were you going to post the Isometric? Did you ever see what information it relayed?

I know what NEEDS to go there, just the linework isn't reflecting it in your screenshot. :)

It's funny you should ask. Despite a verbal discussion and several emails, I can't get a confirmation as to the number of risers. I'm pretty sure the group is going to share one sanitary and one vent riser going up and down. There are identical toilet rooms above and below. The risers are going to be located at the end of the chase near the supplies.

I am not drawing the plumbing but am supposed to avoid it. The drawing I posted looks like there are four pipes going up and down. That is not the case but it is drawn "correctly".
