jemery
Hello, Recently my company has started utilizing files normally used as solely XREFs into files that contain a lot more information in paper space (title blocks, dimensions, name blocks) that have all understandably contributed to file size. What I've noticed, is opening up an overall drawing that contains all of the xrefs (approximately 240, averaging about 2mb each compared to 400kb previously) is becoming near impossible, and I'm wondering if the paper space information has anything to do with it. When a file is used as an XREF, does the file loading the XREF try to regen or load any of the information in paper space? I'm not quite sure what else to point the finger at right now. Any help is much appreciated.
RobDraw
AFAIK, only model space referenced from XREFs. I think the problem may be the number of XREFs. Did you have that many before the change?
ReMark
My first concern would be why did the Xref file size go from a mere 400KB to 2MB. That's a five fold increase. What do these xrefs show? What information is contained in the layout other than your title block, border and notes? Are any image files being used in the creation of these drawings?
