Autocad Taskbar Drawing Names?

I've had as many as ten drawings opened in one session of AutoCAD and did not see a performance hit and I have only 12GB RAM. That's with Firefox, MS Office Access, Excel and Outlook open as well.

What is the typical file size of each drawing?

Windows 7 professional 64 bit with 16gb of ram running autocad 2014.

I routinely have 5 or more drawings open at any given time without any problems. What are the rest of your computer specs? Processor? Video Card?

Have you installed the 2014 service pack?

Yes. I ran all those commands. My post. Wasn't related to the performance of Autocad. I'm just trying to find out how to get the windows 7 task bar to show the drawing names instead of Autocad 2014. Any ideas?

Are the drawing windows maximized? I'm on 2015 so maybe that works differently but when the drawing window (the multiple document window) is maximized the drawing name shows in the task bar. When the drawing window is sized down then it is just the "Autodesk AutoCAD 2015"

Edit: I replied not having seen your screen shots - it looks like your drawing windows are maximized. Does the drawing name not show when you hover over the task bar?

I'm curious about something. I opened five sessions of AutoCAD 2014, each accessing a different drawing, yet there is no indication across the bottom of my screen (Taskbar) confirming that fact. Can you tell me how you got it to display what you are seeing? Was that done through the Windows Taskbar > Properties feature itself?

Never mind. I figured it out for myself. It is a feature of the Taskbar and has nothing to do with AutoCAD per se. After making the change to "Combine when Taskbar is full" I got the exact same thing displayed in my Taskbar as you have. Now, the only way it might show the name of each drawing that is opened in each session of AutoCAD would be through a tweak of some sort. For example, back in Windows 95 or 98 there was an unsupported Microsoft program called TweakUI that allowed the user much greater freedom over how Windows displayed many features and also allowed the user to tweak various settings. Maybe there is something similar for Windows 7.

For anyone interested there is something called the Ultimate Windows Customizer (freeware) that claims to allow the user to tweak up to 70 different settings in Windows 7 and 8. Find it at The Windows Club...
