If I have used a detail view in a drawing file, how do I delete just the circle that's high lighting the detail view without deleting the view it's self, obviously there is good reasons for the circle but it's just not needed for my drawings, any help appreciated.

You cannot delete the detail view circle and retain the view.

What you can do as an alternative is to copy and create a new view, using the sketch tool highlight the required area and select crop.

Rescale as required.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, yes good idea that works, although I did find that if you highlight the circle, right click and edit sketch you you can delete circle temporarily (can't save) but you can print without the circle and then undo the delete to bring back circle, then save. Almost usefull, thanks for reply.

Hi Mark, thanks for the link, it doesn't actually say otherwise it gives a better way of doing it, although when I go options/document properties/line font/ then it should have detail circle in the type of edge folder I don't have it, (i uploaded her jpeg and she has quite a few extra things on her list) I wonder is she using 2015, I am not on solid works forum as I have just started with a company and have yet to acquire the product key, if you are interested in the thread will you ask here is this correct.

Appreciate any help,

Thanks

Go to OPTIONS, Document Properties, Line Style.

New, name the new line syle i.e. NONE, then A,-1,-1.

Save.

Then go to OPTIONS, Document Properties, View Labels, Detail,

then set your detail and border to the blank line you just created.

Oh, and just to warn you, there will be a dashed line on your drawings as a guide,

but this disappears when you print your drawing.
