Roger Wood
We are in the process of moving drawing files from one drive to another. We are proposing to do this using Reference Manager We have successfully moved some files using Reference Manager on a computer with AutoCAD 2015 installed and as a result all the x-refs have been updated to AutoCAD 2015 Is there a fix which can back save the x-refs to, say, 2007 so that the files can be universally accessed by users with previous versions of AutoCAD? Dana W
Download AutoDesk TrueView from the AutoDesk website. It is free, and it is a viewer, converter, publisher program that looks just like AutoCad when it is running. You can batch convert(backsave) multiple drawings at once, or one at a time with it. The learning curve is short, but it does take a minute or two to get used to what the toolbar buttons do. The drawings do not have to be open to be converted. You can convert them in place, that is overwrite them, or convert them to another copy of the original.
