njpls
I'm using Civil 3D 2015 and have a drawing file I have done a lot of work on. It has 5 tabs that contain @ 80 view ports. The base map is a map of the township I have a contract with and the view ports are individual Tax Map Sheets. The Division of Taxation now says they want us to use a template. I opened the template and saved it as a dwg file, then inserted my drawing into it. The problem I'm having is I loose the tabs and view ports. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help. ReMark
Why not do the opposite and insert their template into your drawing?
njpls
I was not sure if that would work. I'll give it a try, thanks
RobDraw
Your layouts can be imported into the new file. Do it the same way you would import a layout from a template but change the file type to .dwg and browse to the file containing the layouts. Sorry but I don't have time to show you all the steps right now.
njpls
Thank you ReMark, it worked like a charm. RobDraw, I did try inserting the dwg into the template (after I saved the template as a dwg file) but it didn't bring the tabs for some reason. RobDraw
The process for getting layouts from one .dwg to another is called importing. Glad you got it sorted out, though.
