nestly
AutoCAD HELP and/or SYSVDLG work well if you know the variable name and the Command line in 2014 and newer contain mid-string search to assist if you only know part of the command/variable name. Other than that, if you're trying to find out what variable controls a certain behavior, it's usually Google for me proceeded by the word "AutoCAD" and succeeded by "site:autodesk.com" (if I want results to be limited the the Autodesk site) Can you give a more specific example of what you're trying to search for? BTW, with SYSVDLG, don't use the search box, as that only finds complete matches, rather click down in the alphabetical list and just start typing to activate a partial match search.
