hands Posted March 10, 2015 Share Posted March 10, 2015 I just updated my resume. I am prepparing to upload it to a few sites? I am a little nervous about leaving my phone #'s and address to a public site. Am I right in assuming this is the norm these days to upload this information to a public site? dbroada Posted March 10, 2015 Share Posted March 10, 2015 I certainly wouldn't include a phone number but I would be tempted to take out a temporary free email address (hands_jobsearch@hotmail.com) that can be ignored once you have a new job. Of course that doesn't stop attack by virus but provided you are careful what you open you should be ok. Why not use linkedin? I am sure that would be more secure than publicly displaying that info. As dbroada suggested, get a gmail or hotmail address and use that for your initial contact. If a legitimate company contacts you, they will most likely provide a phone number for you to call them and then you can go from there.
