Resume, phone number and email address.

Recommended Posts

I just updated my resume. I am prepparing to upload it to a few sites?

I am a little nervous about leaving my phone #'s and address to a public site.

Am I right in assuming this is the norm these days to upload this information to a public site? I thinking I may just say F-it and do it.

Could anybody chime in, and let me know your thoughts?

I certainly wouldn't include a phone number but I would be tempted to take out a temporary free email address (hands_jobsearch@hotmail.com) that can be ignored once you have a new job. Of course that doesn't stop attack by virus but provided you are careful what you open you should be ok.

Why not use linkedin? I am sure that would be more secure than publicly displaying that info.

Thanks. I am going to use linked-in. The job I am possibly interested in, is posted there. Ok so the same is going to go with the address. Do you see any harm in, putting my home town and zip code on it?

I would not put a phone number or your home address on anything you post online. As dbroada suggested, get a gmail or hotmail address and use that for your initial contact. If a legitimate company contacts you, they will most likely provide a phone number for you to call them and then you can go from there.
