Render an Imprint

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any way to have an imprinted area rendered as a different material than the rest of the object that it is imprinted on. For example, can I render the blue spot in the image as a mirror while the white part of the object is rendered as white paint? The last resort is to extrude the blue spot a little depth and subtract it from the object.

Thank you

Have you tried using the SOLIDEDIT command? Initiate the command and then choose "Face" and then "Material" from the command prompt options. This will allow you to select the blue circle and apply a material to it, provided you have already created the mirror material in the material editor.

Thank you. That works perfectly. I completely forgot about all of the options in the SOLIDEDIT command that aren't on the ribbon.
