Z Axis - How to keep geometry on "0"

Recommended Posts

I have even more problems today! I have now opened two more projects. The one i barely had problems with in the past, i check my lines because trim doesn't want to work. Same problem as above z-axis operates in the negative and same applies to the relatively new project i started 2 weeks back. Is there away to set my z-axis to 0 before i start working further on an existing drawing/s?

Make sure UCS is world

Thickness variable=0

Elevation variable=0

Projmode variable=1

Has anyone else had your drawings open recently

Hi Steven-g, yes someone had one of my drawings open yesterday and had to "save as" the drawing. Cause i couldn't close his drawing on his PC.

Just to make sure to change UCS, you right click on UCS and select world?

The others are set to 0

Hi ReMark, at this point im too scared to try anything myself. I have the ability to do things no one can fix or find it very hard to fix. I don't even have to try, it's natural.

None. For the 2 companies i have been with previously and the current, the title CAD Manager doesn't exist, in the sense of CAD, only Drawing Office Manager.

Projmode was set to 0.

As standard projmode is set to 1, so somebody is changing that. When it's zero then if you do have geometry at varying z levels then nothing happens, when it is set=1 you can at least trim items. It is however maybe an idea to have it set =0 at least that way it shows up problems with the z values in your drawings. Is your cad/office manager looking at sorting out these issues in the company.

Honest answer Steven-g. No, it wont get sorted. Unless i start doing it on the side line. Im sure ill need advice about that too, when i start.
