Rhayes
I have our standard Layers built into our dwg template. How ever if you should do a purge and remove some I want a way to re-load layers into the dwg. What would be the best way to do this? I am using AutoCad 2012
Cad64
1. With your drawing open on screen, open up Design Center. 2. In the Folder List, browse to your template file and click on it to select it. You should see a list of everything in the template appear in the right side window. 3. Double click on "Layers". You will now see all the layers in your template file. 4. Window select all the layers and then simply drag and drop them into your drawing.
rkent
2. a. Right click on the template file and Set As Home In the future you just hit the Home button at the top of DC and go straight to your template with all your standards, layer, mleaders, dim styles, etc.
nestly
Use INSERT command to insert the template into the drawing (note, you do not have to complete the Insert command, you can cancel (ESCape) out of the Insert command before finishing and all the layers, dimstyles, textstyles, etc. will be imported even though no physical objects are) Alternately, drag/drop the template into the drawing, then promptly delete it if desired. BIGAL
Another option use the http://www.Lee-mac.com lisp to export layers and then you can amend via excel to a script so you can reload it at any time it will skip over existing layers so no need for any error checking. You can have a predefined macro or autoloaded lisp defun or just "script mylayers"
